Portland Conservation Area

Park

Portland Conservation Area is a 56 acre park located just south of Verona, Ontario. This beautiful spot is the perfect getaway for a lovely lakeside picnic or paddle along the lake. Relax along the shores and look out onto Big Rideau Lake. Hike along the winding trails and stop next to open stands of mature Maple trees to soak in the surrounding scenery. A short portage (carrying your canoe or kayak between destinations) will bring you to the shores of Hambly Lake, also known as Silver Lake. The region is stunning, but is especially beautiful in the autumn months, so make sure you stop by when the leaves begin to turn!
