Thurne Parks Conservation Area

Park

Bask in the sounds of birdsong, and discover the peaceful environs of Thurne Parks Conservation Area! Located in the Municipality of Clarington, this 46 acre park is an ideal spot of nature photography, hiking, fishing, birding, and more. The conservation area is open May to mid-October, and features a trail through a small cedar forest. This trail mostly meanders along the Wilmot Creek, offering nice views of the rushing water and plenty of scenery. Take a quiet stroll on the path (note: it’s not a loop - only one way in and one way out!) and take in the thick tree canopy, and wide variety of plants and wildflowers. Pro tip: the water is often teeming with fish during the spring trout run, and the fall salmon run!
