Located just north of the city of Bowmanville, Ontario, is Stephen’s Gulch Conservation Area. This park is the perfect destination for an afternoon walk and nature getaway. Home to a large coniferous forest, swamp, and deciduous forest, there is plenty of unique wildlife to explore. Anglers can enjoy fishing in the shallow, but fast, river, while other wildlife enthusiasts can experience the many plant and animal species that thrive within the park. A well-maintained 3 km trail loop will take you through valleyland and shady wooded areas by hiking or cycling. But don’t just visit in the summer! In the wintertime, visitors explore the area by snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.
