Bark Bay Beach, located on a narrow sand spit separating a lagoon and Bark Bay in Lake Superior is a beach for those seeking a bit of an adventure. The best access to the spit (and thus the beach) is via canoe or kayak departing from the boat launch on Bark Bay Road. The extra effort will reward visitors with a secluded beach experience perfect for viewing birds and other wildlife. Additionally, the lagoon supports a diverse variety of aquatic plants. Parking is available at the boat ramp. No restrooms, picnic tables, or other facilities. Be sure to take all of your trash with you at the end of your visit.
