Kakabeka Falls Beach is located within Kakabeka Provincial Park, a short drive west of Thunder Bay. The falls are part of the Kaministiquia River. The park's 40 metre falls have earned it the nickname 'Niagara of the North'. Visitors can swim at a long, sandy beach in a buoyed swimming area located above the falls. There are change facilities located here.

Please note that swimming at Kakabeka Falls can be restricted due to fast-moving water. For detailed information about the status of swimming at Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park please call the park directly at 807-473-9231. No lifeguards, water safety is your responsibility. I don’t go there all the time, but I feel like that’s why it’s my favourite place, because it’s an opportunity to go there. I just feel really happy and like nothing else is going through my mind. It’s just nice.
