Main Beach (Bell Park Beach) - Ramsey Lake

Beach

Bell Park Beach is a Blue Flag Beach for the 2023 season*.

Located South of Sudbury’s downtown area, this sandy beach is a popular recreational spot complete with snack bars and functional restrooms. This beach is known for hosting various seasonal events such as the Northern Lights Festival Boreal, Summerfest, and the Sudbury Dragon Boat Races. There is a boardwalk leading along the edge of the waterfront popular for jogging/biking as opposed to swimming and boating in the waters of Ramsey Lake. The site also holds an amphitheatre, two gazebos and a children’s play area, with free parking available at the Sudbury Canoe Club. Lifeguards are on duty from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. between June 27th to August 19th.

*A Blue Flag beach is one that meets strict water quality and safety criteria. These beaches are certified annually as being clean, accessible, eco-friendly, and having great water quality! Swim Drink Fish is the National Operator for Blue Flag in Canada.
