Sandy Beach - Chippewa Park

Beach

Chippewa Park has been a favourite with city residents and visitors since 1921. It is a great destination
for family fun, scenic beauty and relaxation – right on the shore of Lake Superior with an amazing view
of the Sleeping Giant.
Chippewa Park is fortunate to have two swimming areas on the Shore of Lake Superior. The Sandy Beach
swimming area is located east of the main part of the park. This popular destination has grown in
attendance over recent years as more and more public members discover it. Its Lake Superior
wave action keeps the beach open through much of the swimming season. The second beach is located
within the main body of the park and is ideal for the very young. Shallow water makes it safe for
toddlers who love to play in the water and the sand.
Park features:
Amusement rides (seasonally)
Pavillion
