Belwood Lake Conservation Area

Park

Ready for a summer swim? Head down to Belwood Lake Conservation Area. Here, you will find a beautiful quarry — ideal for swimming, boating, fishing, water skiing, and paddling! This spring fed quarry was created by the Shand Dam in 1942. Today, visitors can walk across the dam for unmatched views of the surrounding area, including the vast Grand River. This conservation area is also the perfect place to go exploring. Walk along the sandy beach, cycle the 3.3 km trail, and picnic in one of the many shaded picnic areas. And don’t just visit in the summer! Belwood Lake is an excellent ice fishing destination in the winter and the trails are perfect for snowshoeing.
