Durham Conservation Area is nestled among the bends and turns of the Saugeen River within the picturesque town of Durham, Ontario. This popular spot spans 150 acres and is home to two sandy beaches, over 200 campsites, and the scenic McGowan Falls. Explore the region by foot or on wheels as you hike or cycle the many trails that wind their way through the mature forests and along the riverbank. Visitors enjoy paddling and swimming in the Saugeen River in the warmer months, and cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter.

The river is nice because it is fairly straight with great geology. We passed some narrows and deep water, but the sunset and sunrise at Moon Falls was extremely beautiful. It was also a very nice spot to relax and swim in the river.
