Yarmouth Natural Heritage Area is a beautiful conservation area near the village of Sparta, Ontario. The property was originally turned into a gravel pit several decades ago, and has since been restored to its natural state. It spans 208 acres across Carolinian forests, wetlands, ponds, and streams — a small oasis for a wide variety of wildlife. Three trails wind through this beautiful natural setting, ideal for leisurely hikes and cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter. You will likely spot a wide variety of bird, butterfly, and frog species along the way. Ready for a treasure hunt? Rumour has it that there are several geocaches hidden throughout Yarmouth Natural Heritage Area!
