Eichelman

Beach

Located just south of the Southport Marina and downtown Kenosha, Eichelman Park is one of several interconnected parks and greenspace along Kenosha’s lakefront. In 1887, a large piece of land was donated to the city to enlarge the park by a local tailor named John Eichelman. The city decided to change the park’s name in his honor, giving the name Eichelman Park that we know today.

The park itself has a playground, shade trees and picnic tables making it perfect for a relaxing day outside. Additionally, a path for biking and walking links Eichelman Park to Kenosha’s lakefront parks including Wolfenbuttel, Harbor, Simmons Island, Pennoyer, and Alford. On-street parking is available along 3rd Ave.

The park’s small sandy beach is protected by a small jetty making it slightly less prone to waves and choppy water. That said, even protected waters can be dangerous. Eichelman Beach does NOT have lifeguards on duty. Always swim within your abilities.

Hours: sunrise until 10pm daily.

Restrooms: available near the playground on the south end of the park.

Dogs: prohibited

No fires, grills or glass on the beach
