Southport Park

Beach

Southport Park and Beach, located off 2nd Ave., in Kenosha offers visitors beautiful views of Lake Michigan with few crowds to contend with. The park has a playground, recreation field and a picnic pavilion. Additionally the Pike Bike Trail runs through the park making walks in the area enjoyable. Another added bonus to the area is the park’s proximity to the Kenosha Sand Dunes, further expanding areas you can explore from the park.

One thing to consider while planning your visit to Southport Beach is the proximity to the city’s sewage treatment plant (directly south of the beach). Although the plant poses NO risk to beach users, days where the wind is blowing from the south can be a bit smelly.

No restrooms on-site, but the city has a porta-potty available for use during the summer months.

Parking: available on-site

Dogs: Not allowed per city ordinance

Hours: Sunrise-10 pm, Daily

Fires: No fires, or grills on the beach

Please read and obey all posted regulations during your visit.

Prior to your day at the beach, be sure to check the local Weather Forecast at: https://www.weather.gov/mkx/ and pay attention to changing weather and water conditions.
