McKinley Beach

Beach

McKinley Beach is located on Lake Michigan in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The beach was previously closed for the 2022-2023 season, due to strong rip currents.
It is now back open to the public after some major construction work was done to make it a safer place to swim.
Construction crews worked to “re-nourish” the beach by importing large amounts of sand, then grading and grooming that sand to bring the water depth to its original levels.
There is no lifeguard on duty and it is encouraged that visitors still remain cautious of the beach's conditions.
Amenities at McKinley beach include a playground, picnic tables and a lot of green space to enjoy with 737 feet of beach.
A half mile walk north is Bradford Beach, offering a variety of activities as well.
Mckinley Beach was man made in the 1980’s with rocks from Milwaukee’s deep tunnel project and named after President William McKinley.
Please read and obey all posted regulations while enjoying your day at the beach.
Prior to your visit, be sure to check the local weather forecast at https://www.weather.gov/mkx/, and pay attention to changing weather and water conditions.
