The name Shegiundah is believed to be the Ottawa native word for “home of Seguin.” Seguin was a trader. The beach is not frequented very often, however locals do swim occasionally. There are no lifeguards present, and it is in a remote location. The town of Sheguiandah is located nearby. Government boat dock nearby as well.
