Ausable River Cut Conservation Area

Park

Ausable River Cut Conservation Area is aptly named — a rugged landscape that has been cut out and shaped by the winding river. This scenic gorge is an ideal paddling destination. The river has very little current and winds through some of the most beautiful and fertile lands in the region. The hills here are covered in dense mixed Carolinian forests, with many looping and overlapping well-marked trails. This conservation area is situated just southwest of the Pinery Provincial Park. It provides and excellent opportunity to extend your hikes if you are camping at the Pinery. There is even a challenging hike over an impressive high sand dune stretching for 1.5k m. This conservation area truly has it all. There is even an 11 m high waterfall that plunges into the gorge. Ausable River Cut Conservation Area is well worth a visit!
